This is the football section, the place to read and talk about what many consider the world's greatest sport. If you hate Man United clap yer hands, and then explain the real reason you do so. If you hate Man City do the same, unless you're a City fan, and then the reason's obvious; we always hate that which brings us pain...

The times they are a changin' for footy, but let's concentrate on the game itself, and not worry too much about the trimmings, as it just gets us down, dunnit? If you detect a hint of sarcasm here, you're correct, but what can be done about the situation developing in football today? The truth is we're just seeing one of our great loves being affected in the same way many other aspects of society are being affected - it's all part of the Wal-Mart extravaganza - and the fact we're aging by the day doesn't help. After all, at this rate, who'll be fit to stand up for 90 minutes anyway?

Glazer and Man U.

It's rotten stuff! There's an unfathomably huge portion of our human culture that's been completely sanitized, sterilized, bought out from under our noses (Yeh, fuckin' wake up yer cunts. Smell the fuckin Pentobarbital. And fuckin' see it, hear it, taste it and touch it too.) "Music, News Media, Entertainment, Education" - you fuckin name it, it's been de-balled and re-packaged for the twats - who may just end up inheriting the whole meaningless lot.
Why should The Beautifull Game fair any better than Robert Johnson's legacy? I agree with your synopsis entirely.

Football

I agree but there's something people can do if they organise and stick together. People can fight back against the people who are killing the game, and maybe in some small way they can turn the tide. Maybe FC United is the answer, possibly not. It's all a matter of opinion, but kids today cannot know what they're going to miss when this is over and done. Our entire heritage is hanging in the balance here, and we have to find a constructive way to stop it from being completely eradicated from our culture.
